Some more pics of the wildies
Hi friends! Here's the crab update of the day! Unfortunately we found some a shell and remains this morning and while going through my pictures to see if it was one of my known big guys (it wasn't) I figured I'd post some more pics of my crew! I'm unsure of what happened to it, I suspect a bird or stray dog maybe unfortunately got it.
I can't even explain that these have become my life now lol they make me so happy! But I guess this community gets it!
we went and found some more empty shells by the coast and have set up a secondary shell station, a shellection of the mid to large size because I really think that big big guy is in need so I hope he returns and finds an option. He's not too shy so he doesn't immediately hide when we approach but he definitely can't seem to fit all the way hidden in his shell if he wanted to! (The one in the previous post picture with my hand near it for scale)
I think shopper from yesterday (who is also the first pic on his way to the open houses) had itself a little fashion show runway extravaganza because there's 3 shells off to the side of that original site. Its original shell is also there so it must have found one that it liked. I'm so happy! The banana I left for it is gone but the blueberry remains so they seem to have a preference for banana, maybe the stronger smell? (It took the biggest guy a while to catch on to grapes as well) I want to give them all the snacks and treats but I also want to leave them wild because this isn't our permanent home. I don't want to get them depending on humans.
It blows my mind that the teeny tiny guys I couldn't even get clear pictures of at the beach eventually walk their way up this far!! Their name here in Aruba is Soldachi (soldier) and at one point they were on a proof coin that I hope I can order somewhere online lol
Thanks for being as excited as I am by these guys!
