Advice on ice roads as a ex-FL Resident

Hello. I just moved here as a native FL and am loving the area. I’ve never driven in snow/ice before and I have a date with a girl in Durham tonight at 6. Will it be safe to drive on the roads or should i reschedule to tomorrow? My parents are saying to reschedule but they are from NJ and not sure if icey roads will be gone by tonight. She is coming from Raleigh btw
