Opinions on MiniBuckers for metal?

Hi guys- I've been on a Norlin Era history binge and I'm particularly interested in Les Paul Deluxe guitars- anyways I've been kinda thinking about getting a Deluxe instead of a 50s or 60s standard because of their more scarce and quirky differences- however I am a metal-hardrock player predominantly and I see that mini humbuckers are a bit more spanky and bright than something like my 500T/496R set. That being said- do they chug?
