The audio bug on PC is ruining the game

First off, when this game works it is incredible. I platinumed it on PS4 and it’s one of my favourite games. The PC version was similarly amazing, and apart from restarting to the last checkpoint every so often in Act 1 when sound effects would disappear it has been a lot of fun replaying it.

However, Act 2 and the Iki Island DLC are a nightmare. The sound effects for dialogue, combat sounds, movement, they all stop existing. They return for about 40 seconds after a restart before vanishing once again. Subtitles don’t help as the sound effects aren’t just being muted, they stop playing entirely. It makes combat frustrating as you lose all audio cues for things like archers or enemies behind you, you lose vital story dialogue and you just run silently alongside characters with faint music and wind playing.

I’ve tried multiple “fixes” and none of them work. It’s just a bug in the port and makes the game annoying to play, and it’s got to the point where less than 2 lines are spoken before dialogue cuts out entirely.
