Started collecting from scratch in February this year. This is where I'm at now
Used to be an avid collector, but had to sell a lot of my possessions (including my entire game collection) a couple years ago to supplement the portion of my sudden unexpected medical expenses that weren't covered by insurance.
After getting better and rebuilding my life, I finally got back to a place this year where I could start reconstituting some semblance of a collection. So I bought a PS5 Slim in February when Persona 3 Reload came out (my first game this time around), and have been going extra hard acquiring titles since then.
I know it probably seems like a lot, and maybe even like I'm overcompensating for lost time. Collecting can be a compulsive behavior, and I already have more games than I'll probably ever be able to play. But to some extent, it feels like reclaiming a part of my life that I had to sacrifice when things got difficult. And by being savvy, I'm not breaking the bank by getting all of this stuff back.
So yeah, feels good!
