I Was Told Fursuiting Was a Struggle But, It's Been Nothing Like That for Me
So, I’ve heard from a lot of people that fursuiting is incredibly hot, you have limited vision and mobility, and it's just a general struggle. Honestly, all of that has turned out to be way off for me.
I got my fursuit a few months ago, and since then, I’ve worn it to public events and various gatherings. Every time, I’ve been able to keep the head on for at least two hours without needing a break for water—or even feeling thirsty, to be honest. After I’m done suiting, I’m never really that sweaty either. In fact, I don’t even have the usual desire for water like some people mention. I’ve also been attending events without a handler, and I've had zero issues with my surroundings. My mobility has been pretty great too—navigating through dense crowds without needing assistance.
On top of that, everyone warned me about fur getting in your eyes and mouth, but that hasn’t been a problem at all for me. I’ve never had fur in my eyes or mouth, nor have I experienced the dreaded sweaty drip.
That said, there are still a few things that make fursuiting a bit tricky for me:
I can’t suit up as often as I’d like. I love it, but life just gets in the way. Drinking water before suiting is a hassle. I always need to pee right after, so I have to hold it the whole time. Grabbing things with paws is hard. (I know this is a common issue for many.) Feeling mentally "down" when I take the suit off. I get a little sad when I remove the suit because it feels like I’m going back to being a normal person again. So, what’s the deal? Why is my fursuiting experience so different from what others have described? Anyone else experience something similar?
