Strange symbol and issue with X-T2 and prime lens

I hope somebody encountered this problem before, because I am at a loss right now. I'm running with a X-T2 since the start and just got the fuji XC35mm f2 lens as a companion for my Kit 18-55mm.

The problem is that, when I mount the lens it always goes into a fixed aperture (f16 or now f9). It shows the aperture in blue with this half circle icon, which I can't find anything out about. I read that it means, that the aperture is in manual mode but do not have a conformation for it. Every setting is as it should be, no manual modes etc. I can't change it over the dial. When I connect my f18-55 right after the 35mm, everything works flawlessly. Because the 35mm doesn't have an aperture ring or a switch (it's the cheaper plastic one), I am not able to change anything on the lens itself.

My guess is that is some communication error between the camera and the lens and that electronics are "shot". Or that the aperture mechanics are stuck when mounting the lens.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm currently on vacation in Japan and bought the lens especially for that trip.

(and yes, I know, cute socks 😌)
