Thinking about buying a Food Truck

I am contemplating purchasing a food concession trailer.

  • The truck is 8x16
  • 12” Deep Fryer
  • Two Burner Grill
  • Two Burner Flat Top
  • Four Burner Stove
  • 6x 1/3 Insert capacity steam table
  • A prep cooler with a capacity for 8x 1/6 inserts
  • A single door fridge
  • A chest freezer (will sit outside)
  • 3 Compartment Sink and Hand wash sink
  • A bunch of misc pans and shit (tiny slicer, sheet trays

My man is asking 55k

I’m curious about some wisdom from food truck operators about how viable a food truck as a side gig is and what some of the major difficulties of running such businesses are.

I am a kitchen manager and was not really considering having a side gig but when this came up I became really interested and it’s making me hungry as I feel this could help me start really building a life for me and my family. I will most likely write up a business plan and go for it but I thought I’d ask for some thoughts here. Any insight helps. Thank you.
