Non revving in US as European pilot?

Hey all,

I was talking with one of my captains on a recent trip (European based airline) about how US pilots have the best non rev/jumpseat policies anywhere in the world.

We started to wonder if we were in the US, say on a vacation, if we could somehow get a seat on an aircraft just by showing our licenses at the ticket desk and/or gate.

I'm pretty sure the answer will be no, but was just wondering if something like that would be possible.
