Guidance needed

Im a 3rs year engineering student majoring in Computer Science, I have good knowledge in aspects of Computer and related stuff. A good MERN developer. I was thinking how can I shift to FinTech as a developer, is it worth it ? Or do I need to take economics as a subject or have good understanding of economics ?

PS: Im have no clue about how money works, just know about stats a little bit.
