What things you are glad, in retrospect, FFXIV *didn't* do?

Everyone complains about story beats or gameplay decisions the game currently has, which is fine to do in moderation, but what makes you sigh with relief that the devs decided not go down a specific avenue?

Mine is that Yotsuyu didnt appear as a helpful spirit or a vengeful wraith (at least, not explicitly) in the Aitascope. With all the deceased enemies and allies that appear in there, I'm glad that woman that was treated by the world so cruelly, and retaliated by being just as cruel, was afforded rest eternal away from the problems the stir around the WoL.
