DOD/DAF Probationary Guidance
An excerpt of an email from leadership to the commands:
"Probationary Employees 1. On 25 Feb 25, Commands received a communication from DCPAS signaling the intent to terminate probationary employees on Friday, 28 Feb. This communication was not reflective of final guidance for wider dissemination. Please refer to the following updated guidance: a. Termination of impacted probationary employees will begin on Friday, 28 Feb 2025 with probationary employees identified for release due to performance concerns. b. No probationary employees will be released on the grounds of organizational needs on 28 Feb 2025, as DoD continues to assess manpower needs in accordance with leadership intent 2. We understand the sensitive nature of this topic, and the uncertainty it may cause 🤡. We anticipate providing additional guidance as soon as it is final."
That said, we had a town hall this morning and leadership was pretty pessimistic. They indirectly confirmed that probationary terminations were incoming, and they did not offer any assurances that there were exceptions for any positions or categories of probationary employees.
