Choosing one of your opponents players to ban pre match

A few of my friends and I have begun to get a little bored of our league so we've been trying to think of new rules to spice it up a bit for a season.

One idea we had was to implement a banning system similar to LoL, Marvel Rivals, or other video games where you get to choose one player from your opponents roster that they are not allowed to play in your matchup. I like this because I feel like it introduces more strategy and makes you actually have a small impact on how your opponent performs. You could choose to ban their player projected the most amount of pts, a player from a position they are particularly weak in, a qb who's star wr you have, etc.

One potential issue I can think of with this is we don't have the most active league, so someone could forget to remove the person from their lineup, but I feel like we could just us LM to swap them with whatever backup they have that was projected the most pre match.

What do people here think of this idea? Is there any obvious drawbacks that we are missing? Is this something anyone else has thought about or tried?
