Has anyone tried removing 1v1 weekly matchups?

I hate when a team scores better than half the league but still gets a loss. I was thinking to remove weekly 1v1 matchups and instead the top half high scoring teams for the week get the win and the bottom half get a loss. What are some of the issues this could cause? Did it make the gameplay worse or better?
