I've amassed 131.1 points this year streaming kickers, and you can too
It's easy. It's really easy. You just do what the DFS nerds do.
When selecting a kicker in DFS, fantasy sharks consider the following criteria (in approximate order of importance):
- whether the kicker is playing in good weather conditions or a dome
- how high the over/under is for the kicker's game
- whether the kicker's team is favored
- whether the kicker's team is at home
- whether the kicker is actually a good kicker
And that's it. Each week, you want to stream the kicker who best meets those criteria. You want a home favorite in good conditions with a high over/under. Whether or not they can actually kick is usually a secondary consideration, unless you're choosing between Boswell and Ammendola, or something.
Not only can this potentially result in a #1 overall kicker performance; but it has ancillary benefits too. When you make a waiver claim, you just drop your kicker. If you're not sure which of your players will be available on game day, roster a backup and drop your kicker. If a running back misses practice on Thursday, scoop up their handcuff and drop your kicker. Leverage your newfound bench space by churning your roster with each piece of breaking news and by offering two-for-one trades.
Stop leaving meat on the bone. Drop your kicker.
