Expanded Mod Family DD 2024-08-30: Hindustani Monuments
here and today we are going to present the second trance of the Indian Update[s], alongside with the other mods, and lead developers, of the Expanded Mod Family we have been working on a common update tackling altogether the various aspects of one region, the idea is to bring you all a bigger amount of content all around centred on all the countries in those regions, and we have chosen India.
We started already with the Coromandel, Deccan and Western Indian update, and we are now back in India to discuss alongside and the rest of the Great Monuments Expanded team the monuments that will be part of the Hindustan update which we are aiming for release by the end of September.
Greetings, fellow history enthusiasts and modding community! u/Melvasul94 here and we’re excited to share the latest additions to our Great Monuments Expanded mod, focusing on some of the most significant and sacred sites in Hindstan. Each of these monuments carries deep historical, cultural, and spiritual significance, and we’re thrilled to bring them to life in the game. Here’s a brief introduction to each of these revered sites:
Nestled in the majestic Himalayas, the Gangotri Temple is one of the most important pilgrimage sites in India, dedicated to the goddess Ganga. Located at the origin of the holy Ganges River, this temple is not just a place of worship but also a symbol of purity and spiritual renewal. Pilgrims from all over India journey to Gangotri to offer their prayers and take a holy dip in the icy waters of the Ganges. In the mod, Gangotri Temple will reflect its significance as a centre of spiritual power of the Goddess of the sacred river.
Perched on a hilltop in Ayodhya, the Hanuman Garhi Temple is dedicated to Lord Hanuman, the devoted servant of Lord Rama. This temple is an important pilgrimage site for devotees of Hanuman, symbolizing strength, devotion, and protection. The temple’s strategic location also made it a historic defence point, adding to its cultural importance. In the mod, Hanuman Garhi Temple will stand as a monument of both spiritual significance and historical importance, highlighting its role in the religious and martial history of the region.
The Laal Qila, or Red Fort, is one of the most iconic symbols of India’s rich Mughal heritage. Constructed by Emperor Shah Jahan, this massive fortress of red sandstone served as the main residence of the Mughal emperors for nearly 200 years. It represents the zenith of Mughal architecture, with its intricate designs, sprawling gardens, and imposing walls. In the mod, Laal Qila will not only represent a centre of imperial power but also a hub of cultural and political significance in Hindustan.
Now, albeit it is not shown, for some unknown reasons, the monuments has a conditional modifier when owned by Mughals which will further reflect the central role of the Red Fort in the government of the mighty Indian empire.
The Parvati Temple in Khajuraho is a stunning example of the Chandela dynasty’s architectural brilliance and devotion. Dedicated to Goddess Parvati, the consort of Lord Shiva, this temple is part of the famous Khajuraho Group of Monuments. The Parvati Temple, though smaller compared to others in Khajuraho, is renowned for its intricate carvings and exquisite sculptures that celebrate both the divine and the sensual aspects of life. In the mod, the Parvati Temple will be a key monument, reflecting the artistic and spiritual heritage of the Chandela period, set within the broader context of the Khajuraho temples.
Now, be assured that even more monuments will be present at release such as the Badashi Mosque, the Tomb of Jahangir the many wonders in Fatehpur Sikri as well as other beauties from the cities of Lahore or Delhi!
The End
And that’s a wrap! We hope these new additions to Great Monuments Expanded enhance your gameplay, allowing you to explore the rich spiritual and cultural heritage of Hindustan. Stay tuned for more updates and happy gaming!
