Suggestions for upgrade from Lelit Anna PID

Hey everyone,

I’ve been using a Lelit Anna with PID for a while now, and it’s been a fantastic machine to learn the art of espresso. It’s compact, reliable, and the PID control has been a game-changer for dialing in consistent shots. But as my skills and expectations have grown, I’ve started to notice the limitations—especially when it comes to multitasking and experimenting with more advanced techniques.

Here’s what I’m looking for in my next machine:

  1. Rotary Pump The vibratory pump on my Lelit Anna gets the job done, but it’s noisy, and I’d love something quieter and more consistent. A rotary pump would also give me the option to plumb the machine into my water line, which would be a game-changer for workflow and convenience.

  2. Double Boiler Single boiler machines have their charm, but switching between brewing and steaming has become a bit of a hassle. I’d like to step up to a double boiler for better temperature stability and the ability to pull a shot and steam milk at the same time.

  3. E61 Group Head with Flow Profiling I’ve been reading up on flow profiling and how it can open up a whole new world of control over the extraction process. The E61 group head is a no-brainer for me, and adding flow profiling to the mix would let me really dial in the flavor nuances of my favorite beans.

I’d love to hear from anyone who’s made a similar upgrade or has experience with machines that check these boxes. My budget is flexible within reason, but build quality and performance are key factors for me.

Thanks in advance for any recommendations or insights! Cheers!
