Hand/finger supports for crafting

I’m in the middle of trying to knit a baby blanket for my sister who’s pregnant with her first. I’ve mostly knitted hats in the past and often used chucks wool to get it done faster. However I found a really cute yarn that’s gauged for US 8 needles. It’s taking a lot more time to complete than what I’m used to. And as a result of both the time and the yarn being so much smaller my hands hurt. Does anyone have a support brace or something they would recommend for crafting? I want to avoid anything with Velcro bc of the yarn.
