Are scans required

I saw a few people on here say that they don’t consider those who were diagnosed without scans to have a valid diagnosis. But my doctor didn’t even suggest scans. She went through the 9 points of hypermobility and followed the other official criteria from the Ehlers-Danlos Society. She also had me do a genetic panel to rule out any other genetic causes for these symptoms. I trust my doctor and the official diagnostic criteria, but it was very disheartening to see that some wouldn’t consider me to have a valid diagnosis because I didn’t have scans done.
