Why Dubai feels like a ghost town?
Hi, I'm right now in Dubai for the first time. When I landed here yesterday my first thought was 'wow, so I guess this what happens when you have an incredible amount of money and space..'
Now don't get me wrong, it's beautiful and incredibly clean here (and really fucking fancy).
But the more I walk around the more I feel like there's no one here...
I know a lot of people say it's the weather here, but it's winter now and about 24°c, so that's not it. I will say that yes, when I'm on the metro there's a fucktone of people, and yes there're cars on the road, and when I went to the Dubai mall & gold market it wasn't empty.
But, when I walk around outside, go to a café, walk to a park or walk on the street, it feels like a ghost town.
And again yes, there are people, but for the scale that everything is, and the size that everything (and it's all massive), it feels so empty and lifeless... why?
Edit: Okay so, after reading a lot of comments, and a special thanks for u/sirmosesthesweet and u/sirsi-man, I can definitely see and understand where I was wrong. So thank you for everyone who wanted to educate/ help me :))
