Action4 - how to adjust audio in level/gain (using mic 2 receiver via usbC)

Hi! Tested out using my Mic2 setup on the Action 4. I know I can adjust gain on the transmitters and the gain going out of the transmitter. This works great on my Canon Eos R (stereo jack from “audio out” on the transmitter).

But today, using this setup on the Action 4 (via USB-C), the observed audio level (green bar at the top of the screen) didn’t change when changing the transmitter gain from the lowest to the highest setting. The action 4 recorded the same audio levels (audio levels went into the orange range almost peaking) even after changing the gain levels coming out from the transmitter. This made me think that maybe the action four is automatically adjusting the internal audio gain to mach a certain level, eg. -6 - -12 dB (iow, auto gain).

Is there a way to manually set the audio gain in the camera?
