Sold something to a person who seemingly isn’t familiar with DA quality and their love for editing the colours. I should have just disposed of it instead lol

Ok this is just a little story, don't really need an advice, because I am not too stressed about it, but just want to share this experience because I feel like people might find it useful in case they plan to get rid of some Djerf Avenue pieces in their wardrobe.

So, I am in a big wardrobe declutter phase right now. I have owned (and still do) a bunch of Djerf Avenue pieces that I have purchased/been gifted between 2021-2023. Some pieces have been repeat purchases (but in a different colour, for example), so I am one of those customers who have witnessed enough quality declining, but I have also kind of accepted it & just stopped shopping at DA and chose to continue observing them as a brand instead.

I also have to mention that I am somewhat of a textile geek lol That's why I was so obsessed with the idea of Lyocell Tencel in pjs, for example. Because I think it's genius to have suuuuch a soft and extra breathable material for this purpose (after all, we sweat on average ca half a litre per night..). And OBVIOUSLY I want my pieces to last so I only wash them as advised. Now that we have this aspect cleared out, to the story!😁

So, I sold this Dream Cake PJ shirt and the girl who bought it wasn't happy with it. She said it was super discoloured and "not in the condition she expected". Just for the record, it has been washed as advised two, maybe max three times before I had to accept that such a loose fitting isn't for me. When I bought it I was disappointed that it wasn't as blue as they had shown on the pictures and the print was barely visible. But I kept it because, as I said, Lyocell Tencel sounded super smart for sleepwear. And it hasn't changed from its original state after those couple of washes. When I decided to sell it, I was very dumb to think that Djerf Avenue's fluctuating quality is a common knowledge. Even though I made sure that the pictures were obviously showing the difference between what it's actually like vs vibrant Djerf pictures, the girl chose to buy it. I wasn't selling it for anything too expensive simply because I have no "financial wound" (lol) left from buying it, so to me it was just a piece that could potentially need a new home instead of a "valuable asset for reselling", probably because I bought it from the very first drop of this pj in this design! Anyways. That girl has received it, reported me (?) and requested to send it back and get her money back. She proceeded to send me a picture of my shirt next to the shorts in the same pattern which were WAY MORE VIBRANT. I have no idea whether she has the infamous "Aliexpress dupe" (didn't really look like it) or they actually improved their quality a few drops later (shorts haven't been a part of pjs collection in the beginning and came later). In that case, great job, Djerf Ave (not something one gets to read often on this subreddit nowadays)😁However, the inconsistency with the quality has pissed me off. I sent the money back because, to be fair (and I consider myself fair), if I were to purchase a very vibrant bottom and then suddenly get a top that is very weak in colours, I would be upset too, even after paying less that half the price. I told her she could keep it because losing money AND closet space is not something I would be interested in. So opted for basically giving it away instead.

So here's a little lesson to learn from this story (optional tho😁): DO bother writing a word or two about Djerf's history with quality inconsistency. DO bother mentioning when you purchased it (especially if it's an item that tends to get restocked) and bother reading posts about the quality on this subreddit about the items that you already own if you plan to sell them someday.

That's about it😁 Have a great evening everyone!
