Stop chasing status and Start chasing free flights instead?

I think I’m tired of the Status game. I just don’t see the benefits.

My thoughts:

I own a business and maybe I’ll keep a Reserve Delta card for the business just so we can stay Sky Priority (which does have advantages), free checks bags, and also keep lounge access.

But I’m thinking for our personal cards, maybe we switch.

(This isn’t a flex, just a fact…) We earn a lot and we spend a lot too. So we rack up points fast. Maybe we get a Capital One Venture? Or a Chase Sapphire Preferred? The benefit I see in these cards is that points can be used for flights, hotels, and car rentals, and not just flights. And I’ve also read that dollar for dollar, these cards earn more free flights at a faster rate.

Thoughts? What am I overlooking or overthinking?
