How to fly the flanker “smoothly”?

The other day I was flying on the acrobatics 4YA server. As I was taxiing onto the runway, this very skilled f16 pilot just zoomed inches in front my plane. Watching him fly, the dude was flying super low between trees and under power lines.

Having been inspired I tried to follow his flight path but I realized that the trim required on the flanker makes it significantly harder to do what he was doing. Anyone have any tips for flying the flanker “smoothly”?
