Newbie looking for help
Me and my son just found out about this tcg, I've been a fan of DBZ my whole life. He's 8 and has fallen in love with DBZ as well. I have a bunch of questions regarding collecting and playing a newer tcg.
My only experience with tcgs was with pokemon and yugioh when they first came out and never really went much further than just collecting a playing starter decks. We did get the pokemon starter box (mew2, Charizard and pikachu) and a few other starter decks to play but it felt impossible to get into it beyond that because it's been going on so long.
I just bought 2 Bardock starter decks and 7 or 8 packs of FB03. I also tracked down the original starters decks to play with, I should get them this week sometime.
So my questions with this game are..
When you jump in, do you just generally buy the newest packs and make something out of that?
I was looking for videos online and everyone seems to be talking about having 4 scr cards in a deck and such, is that realistic? Would people locally be playing decks like that generally?
I asked at the local shop if there is much of a scene for this and it seems pretty small so far, I think the masters had about 15 regulars or so. The guy who worked at the store had a SS2 Gohan deck.
Is there anyway to play the online version on iPad or Android? We only have a junky old laptop that nobody really uses anymore.
I guess the best way to start with upgrading the starter decks is to remove the cards with no effects?
You can't really build a new leader without a bunch if cards that go with them? The guy who worked at the store gave my son a cell leader and 20 or 30 FB02 cards, we also pulled a Jiren and the another world Goku, can these guys go in one of the starter decks?
I was planning on buying 5 or so packs a week, would it be worth buying old packs or one of each box? My son wants to try playing other people when they have a tournament.
Sorry for all the questions, we are in eastern Canada which kind of limits us a lot. My son is super (ha) excited to collect and play this tcg as we make our way through the show and games. Thanks for the replies.
