What's with people on dating apps posting pictures of themselves giving the middle finger?

As a straight guy, I've seen a considerable number of pictures from women where they're giving the middle finger while smirking into the camera. I wouldn't say it's as common as "F1 racing" and "I like to yap", but it's not a rarity either.

What is this about? I'm genuinely confused about what people who are doing this are attempting to communicate. Is it some sort of reference to a TV show, movie, or TikTok trend?
