How does cycling handle alcohol vs carbs?
Thinking of doing RAGBRAI this year and it could involve some drinking, especially on the super-short 36 or so mile day. I know that generally nutrition involves carbs/protein/fat but alcohol is its own fourth category which the body tends to prioritize over everything else.
On a scientific level does the body prioritizes the alcohol on the bike over the carbs like it would off the bike? If you drink a beer and then bike a few miles did you perhaps burn off the alcohol?
I don't want medical advice lmao, this is completely hypothetical out of curiosity.
