Go back to school? Grind more Get certs?
Hey Folks,
I get the market is terrible right now, but I think my lack of experience is part of my issue. I have a bachelors in CS, with roughly 3 years of miscellaneous experience. I've worked in Java for 1 year, C++ for another year, and a mixture of C# with a lot of powershell scripting the third year. I look at these postings and 95% of them asking for multiple years in a specific language. I don't have any projects I've committed too, wouldn't really know where to start, and frankly have almost zero drive. I work on Leetcode problems in my spare time, using CGPT to help me walk through an refactor them for the best big o I can get, but even so I don't feel prepared for a new job and talk myself into the mindset that I'm under-qualified for everything out there.
I've been contemplating going to get my masters (Udacity/Georgia Tech still seems to have that online masters) and letting my GI-Bill pay for it. That or get some certs under the same GI-Bill. What do you guys suggest for a guy who has minimal experience and feels its not even enough to apply for 95% of the jobs out there. I have multiple avenues (Leetcode, Homelab, GI-Bill, etc) just trying to get advice from those who were in a similar situation or have found means to improve.
