Zoroastrian Persia campaign

i recently marked off my 300 year tall brittany campaign, and i wanted to have another shot at forming zoroastrian persia. anything i can do to set myself up for success, any specific character i should choose? because ive tried this before and its always ended up in me getting destroyed and unable to expand due to everyone around me being way too strong
