How to track progress in Cf?

Hey guys! I have been doing crossfit for 2 years and now I decided to start putting more time into it as I want to compete (I'm an amateur, but I want to have some fun).

My ask to you is: how do you track your progress across all the skills and weightlifting? Note them down, memorize, do you use an app?

My struggle is that exercises composition always change and I miss the bar/benchmark to keep progressing. There's no consistency like in bodybuilding.

Example: - today I'll have an Amrap made of 20 deadlift and 15 pull-ups and max calorie rows - Tomorrow I will have another wod with 5 heavy deadlift and 5 muscle ups.

And I get lost trying to understand the progression here. Many thanks all!
