Is this unsafe for cooked chicken?

Looking for an answer that explains the science a little

I cooked a bunch of chicken thighs, put them on a plate then covered with plastic wrap while they cooled on the counter. Annoyingly I forgot to put them in the fridge after about 45 mins as I’d planned. It was over 3 hours when I finally did.

Is this bad/unsafe? It was fresh cooked and still cooling. Tbh I get confused about cooking food or hot food and when to store it. Does covering the food while it cools make a difference? Thank you.
