Need to know about puppy's eyes before buying?

I want to get a cocker spaniel. I've done a lot of research and it seems like their personality fits my lifestyle. I found this cute little guy but it looks like his eyes are looking in two different directions. I tried researching this and saw some articles saying this could be due to a health condition, and then on the other hand I saw articles saying it was just a common thing for the breed. So I am not sure how to know which one it is? Hoping some experienced owners can weigh in. Picture for reference.
