Vacation with a 1 year old in June 2025

I’m looking for ideas for our first real vacation with our son next year, who will be 1 at the time.

We’re located in the Philly suburbs, an hour from Newark airport, which would be our ideal airport if we go that route. I’m nervous about flying with a 1 year old so I’m ideally looking for a non-stop flight under 3 hours.

(ETA: open to up to 4-ish hour flights actually)

Looking for a hotel under $700-800/ night if it’s not all-inclusive or under $1000/night if it is all inclusive. Bonus points if it’s an Amex FHR or hotel collection property.

I’d really like a resort-feel where everything we need is there and we don’t feel the need to leave. Convenience is super important to us traveling with baby.

Some options we’re considering:

• Bahamas (either the Reef or the Cove at Atlantis)

• Turks and Caicos (though the nice resorts seem a little out of our budget?)

• A resort somewhere in Florida?

• A cruise out of the NY/NJ area. Probably not the most “chubby” option but something is so appealing about just being “at our destination” from the time we board a boat and not having to do a flight with baby. Would likely get a suite or upgrade in some way for a nicer experience since we tend to spend a good bit of time in our room. My concern with a cruise is the quality of the food though.

Would love to hear if anyone has any suggestions/feedback on these options, or maybe any others that I haven’t considered.
