Great wall visit just before CNY, bad idea?
So I know that visiting the wall during national holidays is basically a shitshow but my family will be visiting me during the school holidays and it's on my parents bucket list to see the wall.
We will be in Beijing just before the holiday officially starts, from Jan 24-28 - are the crowds likely to be any better then?
Can anyone recommend a quieter section(s) of the wall that is still accessible as a day trip from BJ? My parents are able bodied and physically fit so long walking isn't an issue, but they are still mid-50s, so ideally would like to avoid excessive uncomfortable travel.
Thanks!
Tl;Dr: Any recs for quieter sections of the wall in the lead up to CNY for mid-50 year olds?
