Families with children are the worst guests in restaurants
I work as a waitress in a high-end steak house. All of the meals we offer cost half a fortune, so it’s mostly just adults dining at our place. But once in a while families will come by and I FUCKING HATE IT.
First of all, they tip horribly, IF they tip at all. They usually don’t have much money, since their little spawns are expensive enough already. But why eat at a fucking high-end restaurant, when you can’t really afford it?? Go to Chuck E. Cheese or McDonalds, but don’t waste my time by occupying one of my tables for hours and expecting a gourmet service experience for the absolute minimum.
Second. They always leave a HUGE FUCKING MESS! Chewed and spit out food all over the table and on the floor. Sometimes they even sneak in their own food and it’s spilled all over the place. Puddles of spit and spewed out beverages. It’s so fucking disgusting. And it takes so long to clean that mess up and to get the table ready for the next round of guests.
Third. They let their children run free in the restaurant. They bother the other guests and get in the way of waiters and keep us from doing our work in peace. We always have to watch out to not stumble over a hyperactive spawn that gets on our way. And the parents couldn’t be less bothered about it. Also they scream and cry and ruin the nice atmosphere for everyone.
And last but not least: parents always expect the special treatment. I once had a long argument with a mother, because she couldn’t understand why we wouldn’t allow her to warm up her breast milk in our microwave, which we also use to prepare some of our meals🤮 like, that’s unhygienic as hell and I would literally throw up if my food was in the same microwave like her disgusting tiddy juice.
Stop bringing your child to places where they don’t belong. Stop ruining a luxurious experience for the other guests. They don’t pay a shit ton of money for crying and stomping. And stop making our jobs harder than they already are. (English is not my first language. Sorry for any mistakes!)
