Theatre scene?

I used to write and direct a lot of amateur theatre five or so years ago back in Melbourne. I moved back to chch and I find it so difficult to break into the theatre scene here.

I'd love to get back into theatre again, even as a volunteer doing odd jobs, but my enquiries tend to go unanswered.

Anyone have any advice?
