The Ghost Of Snake River Falls

Now that snake river falls is officially closed I thought I would share a spooky story that happened to me in the summer of 2009 while I worked there. I was on the ride op team for the Cedar Creek Mine ride and was working afternoons. I had just clocked in after a long night and was extremely hung over. The ride was swamped that day as it was a mid summer weekend and we had consistently long queue line. When we finally were able to close the gate we had about an hour and a half queue line to get through. by the end of the night our team was completely exhausted and were excited to go home. After all the guests had left the station and plaza of our ride the team left as one big group. After about five minutes of walking together i realized i had forgotten my water bottle in the station. I told the group to wait where they were while i went back and grabbed it. I did a light jog back to the station where I seen one singular light on in the snake river falls station. once I got to the top of our station and got my water I was able to see a clear view into the station and seen what I assumed to be a man sitting in the ride vehicle staring straight ahead. I instantly could feel that something was wrong about this. However I assumed it was just some maintenance guy and went back out my station. While I was heading back to the rest of my group to see if the person was still there i noticed the light was now turned off and what appeared to be a firelight was now lit on the cabin above the drop. Now to my knowledge at the time there was no other way to that cabin then climbing on the stairs along the lift hill. However only 1-2 minutes had passed since I had left my station and there was no way somebody could have climbed that hill in time. I quickly caught up with my group and mentioned nothing of it. Around 3-4 years later me and my friend (Who also worked in the 2009 ccmr crew) were hanging out and I brought up this story and to my surprise he said one of the member on the snake river falls team had told him a similar story before. He said he heard that some employees of snake river falls claim they seen a middle aged man walking throughout the cabin holding a lantern. According to them it was the ghost of a man who originally traveled to the peninsula in the late 1800s to fish and find love but tripped and fatally hit his head while coming back in for the night after a long day of fishing. They said his spirit still carries on holding his lantern while still searching for a wife and place to call home after fishing. Now whether this was a real thing or just a story some dumb teenagers made up as an excuse for turning off lights I'm not sure, but it still is a good story to tell that will get you goosebumps every time.
