Is my anger about this inappropriate?

Short version, adopted a starving barn kitten with spinal deformity birth defect. She was emancipated and 14 ounces at 7 weeks old. She had a blockage I was able to help her pass after a week of 24/7 care it was a literal wad of white pine tree needles, she was so starved she was eating anything because she was trapped in a horse stall. She’s 10 weeks now and thriving mostly. Eats, plays, drinks, cuddles, cleans herself all the cat things. But her spinal deformity means her rectum and genitals are a bit messed up. She developed a UTI which I worry will be a common issue and has a bit of raw skin from being caked with urine and feces when we got her and her subsequent dragging of her leg that we’ve been addressing by cleaning and wrapping the wound daily, multiple baths, salves etc.

The vet at the practice I regularly go to I saw I asked for someone who specifically has the most knowledge of cats.

we have a long talk with the vet tech who was awesome and talked about my comfort and skill level of care and what I feel I can handle.

I was hoping for an in depth talk with the vet about measures we can take to prevent the obvious challenges kitty will face. Instead the vet comes in and even before touching this cat she says, ‘you know quality of life…it’s kinder to euthanize’ I politely asked her why she says this and she says she saw a similar case and it just was constant UTI issues and skin issues etc and cats like to be clean etc.

Then this vet says, ‘and it’s like a human with spina bifida, what quality of life, but humans are sentient so we make more effort when they need a higher level of care…’ and I just gawked at her along with my husband .

Finally tried to ask questions about keeping skin clean and dry, possible urinary tract support, how to support her muscles and deformed legs as she gets stronger, how to clean to minimize UTI risks etc and she didn’t answer a single question.

Kitten is on abx and already improving but I’m so deeply displeased about this visit. The vet literally said all this before even performing a physical exam. I don’t discount that ultimately it might not work and we have to euthanize this kitten but she’s gaining weight and otherwise thriving ffs.

Am I unreasonable to seek a different opinion from another vet?

Also she’s now 19.2 ounces at 10 weeks for reference a ten weeker should be like 3lbs! She’s gained well and quite strong, can pull herself up with just her front legs!
