Alternative Career paths for CS Grad?
I graduated May 2024 with a Bachelors of Computer Science (+ minor in Mathematics) at a good university. I had one internship under my belt at a pretty good company in 2023, but no luck getting a job as a Software Engineer since graduation. The job market ain't great, as many of you may know.
I'm wondering if there's an alternative career path for someone like me. Paths I have considered:
...
Patent Law, Patent Agent. Law in general seems pretty interesting to me.
Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA)
Accelerated Bachelors of Science in Nursing (ABSN)
Masters in Accounting (for people with non-accounting bachelors)
Masters in Education (I always wanted to be a teacher)
Actuary, Actuarial Science
...
I have family members in all of these disciplines and fields, so I can gather a good sense for what I may pursue. For the time being, I'm getting a simple job so I can save up some money to pay for whatever program I go into. I'm not writing off Software Engineering completely, it may be a long while before I get what I originally wanted. But I gotta prepare a backup plan. Any advice? I'm open to everything, I may even need to leave the United States and go somewhere else for opportunity.
