PSA: Make sure your experience letters have work duties
Hi,
Just wanted to make a quick post for those who have ITAs and are filling out their applications:
Make sure your employer letter meets the full requirements. IRCC are rejecting many applications. Letter of explanation won't really cut it anymore.
You need all of this:
The following documents are mandatory for each work experience declared:
a reference or experience letter from the employer, which should be an official document printed on company letterhead (must include the applicant’s name, the company’s contact information [address, telephone number and email address], and the name, title and signature of the immediate supervisor or personnel officer at the company), should indicate all positions held while employed at the company and must include the following details: job title, duties and responsibilities, job status (if current job), dates worked for the company, number of work hours per week and annual salary plus benefits;*
Sorry if the formatting isn't amazing, but I'm on mobile. But I am seeing again and again that whereas there was some flexibility before, you need this letter now as fraud got so rampant. They seem to be cracking down.
If you can't get a letter of employment meeting the above requirements, you need to get that proof more than ever. Try your best if you can't and find other evidence, but be prepared that the application may be rejected. Consider moving the experience to personal history if you can sacrifice the points.
You can get statements from coworkers etc and other levels of management and proof of them not providing the requested letter, but again, just bear in mind that if it is not the exact letter as described above, your application may not be approved.
Spend as much time as possible, leave no stone unturned put as much effort as you possibly can into getting these employment letters. Your PR may depend on it, and IRCC will only accept alternative explanations if you really, really go miles to provide evidence in its place. Even then, it's still not guaranteed.
I say this as I am in so many immigration groups and day after day, people are not able to get this letter and are receiving PR rejections. My friend even had a statement from his manager with the duties, but it was rejected still with a standard explanation that he had not provided a mandatory document (the letter with everything as above!)
Put effort into your applications, triple check and make sure your application is clear and concise with any anomalies well explained!
