Canon Optura 20 tape stuck

I got our family camcorder from my parents in hopes that I could transfer all the tapes to my computer. There was already a tape inside but it wont eject. It pops out a little bit and then goes back in. I tried following a video where I was someone release a spring on the side. I tried that and it moved a bit but still didn't open up. The tape can be played, can rewind, and can fast forward. Is there anything I can do to try and get it out? I'm, trying not to damage the camera so it can be used for all the tapes.
