Sony Handycam DCR-TRV900 Tapeless Setup Advice

As the title suggests I wanted advice on a tapeless setup for my Sony Handycam DCR-TRV900. I know there is huge dissatisfaction with the clearclick capture devices, so I don't know how to do this setup the best way I can. The reason I am trying to do a tapeless setup is that my Handycam had its taping mechanism damaged and can no longer read or record onto a tape. I tried to clean and repair the mechanism and had no luck. I just want to know if there are any alternatives that keeps it easy to record handheld while getting the most bang for my buck. Please spare some advice if you have any.
