Most battery efficient video format for MacOS

I use the Arc browser on my MBA M3. I love the browser UI but hate the absolute battery/memory/CPU hog that the Chromium engine has compared to Safari/Orion. However, based on some research I find that the main cause can be videos playing in AV1 encoding. Is there a way to make videos play in VP9 or H.264 encoding (I'm not sure what's the most efficient for MacOS)? I know I can disable AV1, VP8 AND VP9 in Flags or through the H.264 app but I'm not sure whether to choose H.264 or VP9 and how to implement it? I'd really appreciate it if someone can help me with this, thanks!
