Is my progression bad?

So I've been bouldering maybe like 7 times in my life and I'd say that the past 5 weeks have been 5 of those times. First 2 were a while ago but they did give me some groundwork for what to expect when I tried it again. Thing is, I really like bouldering but I'm not progressing at nearly the same rate as I thought I was.

Currently, I am able to do most V1s at my current gym outside of about 5 (I think they have 12-13 of them). A couple of the ones I can't do have extremely small holds with no more than an inch in thickness (can almost do one). Another couple I can't do have me climbing up horizontally so it takes a bit more strength than I currently have. I've also tried a few V2s that I felt like I have a chance with but haven't done any yet.

I was looking up how good my progression is just to make sure that I'm on the right path but I'm seeing people doing V4s after their first month or two? Is that even possible? Even if I was super efficient with recovery time (I think my cap would be 2-3 times a week) I doubt I would be at V4 anytime soon and I might just be hitting V3 if I got lucky and found one that fit my style perfectly.

Am I doing something wrong?

I want to point out that I'm definitely progressing. Recently each time I go, I usually end up being able to do 2-3 more V1s that I haven't done before so I imagine that in a couple weeks I'll be at V2 but man, hearing people are at V4 right now just makes me feel like I'm not doing things correctly. I've also gone with a variety of friends and ones that workout consistently and are very strong are progressing at the same level as me or just a bit better but usually stay in the same grade (If I can't do a V1, they might be able to). Ones that don't workout are definitely behind but are capable of doing all V0s and just completed their first V1s. We're all at a pretty good weight too. I'm at 150lbs and I'd say my friends sit at 140-170 so it's not like we're just unfit right off of the bat and having to push around a lot of extra weight. What are we doing wrong that others are doing right?
