Need your thoughts if I should stop taking my lisinopril.
Hey guys, well didn't think I'd post a topic on this in here but here goes. So I been on 10mg of lisinopril started from last summer. My bp was elevated 160/90s and I strongly believe this was due to a surgery drainage I had done, because right before I had the surgery done my bp was 125-130 roughly. I've always had mildly high blood pressure but never had any signs of it being a problem, so I always felt if I keep my bp under 140 I was satisfied enough. Usually anytime I had a doctor visit my bp was consistent at 130-135 but the diastolic was always 70-80. Due to the higher bp last summer though my doctor wanted me to go on meds. The thing is I am sick of getting dizziness and tiredness, and I believe this med has contributed to my vision problems because I started getting dry eye and double vision a month after I started taking it. I can't confirm the med caused this issue but the timeline sure seems to make sense to me. The thing is I don't know how well this med has really been working for me, I've always averaged 130-135/75 on normal days, sometimes in the evening it goes to 125/70 but is the 10+ point difference really enough reason to take this damn pill?
My doctor has said it's up to me to decide, they recommend it, but I stopped taking the pill a few days ago, and so far my bp has stayed around 130-135/75. Still too early to see if the med is out of my system or not, but if it stays around 130 I strongly don't see the point of taking this med anymore. Here's the reason why though I question the mildly high blood pressure, my heart echo I had done last year showed a mildly dilated left atrium. That's the only reason I always monitored my blood pressure and wanted to keep it under 140. I don't know would just like your thoughts if I should stop the pill and see how my numbers stay, or if the 10 point difference is enough to deal with the stupid med.
