Insanely hard to get into PVP? help?

I just got to lvl 61 with pen tuvala gear on season server and I'm trying to get into pvp and it's looking impossible. I'm in the class discord and get the idea of what to do but it's hard to practice when i get one shot everywhere. I find there's also limited youtube beginner guides to pvp.

Wheres the best place to practice? Do I need way better gear? How long does it take to get good? Tips????
