My gym doesnt wash the mats

So no kidding, my gym doesnt wash the mats. Well, they do but only once a day.

When i first went to my new gym I noticed the mats werent exactly squeaky clean. We had the class, finished rolls, no one grabs a mop, noone grabs the spray, everyone just walks off the mat and heads to the showers.

I thought that was hell weird, so the next time I went I asked one of the coaches about it. He said the professor cleans the mats every morning. I was like wtf only once? how is noone dead. He said noones really had any skin infections there, which I was a little sceptical. Every other gym Ive ever been to we wash before and after every single class.

This is an actual gym too so just random people are on the mats all day doing all sorts of shit, some of them even wearing shoes. And theres Muay Thai and boxing classes too. But weeks, months, and now 4 years go by and sure enough nooone has gotten any skin infections.

Its totally weird. Weirdest thing is Ive gotten used to it.
