Lads..... The difference is huge

So for the first time since I took up cycling 4 years ago I have cycled in a different country. Im normally in Ireland and the glacial activity from thousands of yeara ago have left it hilly mountainous with windy rolling hills. Dont get me wrong i love it. Its a challenge but with amazing scenery. But cycling in France is a whole new game....Where I am at least the roads are smooth. Old Roman roads straight and clean. There are few potholes and seems to be lots of space. I loved it. This maybe the holiday vibe speaking but it seemed easier with less obstacles. Great weather. Even the road paint markings are flat so when you cycle on them you dont bump up and down. My bike seemed to cruise along and my average pace was solid. It seemed easier to get into a nice cadence and keep it for long periods of time. Anyway thats my small opinion. Im really enjoying it. (I really dont want to end up on BCJ for this)
