Question from the mods

We’re seeing a lot of people upset that no discussion is allowed about this and requesting a megathread so we wanted to address why we don’t think this is a good idea and leave it up to you guys. We’ll read the reasonable comments and reassess shortly

We want to make it clear that there are hundreds of non members of the sub flooding in to troll, and we have had to removed hundreds of posts, let alone comments. If we have a megathread we will basically be forced to leave it more or less unmoderated which would give people a space to discuss things, but would also leave sincere users open to being bullied or hurt by people just here to troll

We have been called slurs and told to kill ourselves all day in the modmail, trust me here when I say that the bad intentioned discourse will outweigh the good. Most of the mod team is either inactive or has quit due to the stress of this event so I’m basically running this on my own.

Let me know what you guys think about the idea of a thread to discuss the drama because I’m willing to have one, but please understand my reasons against this at the same time
