Tips for playing as Scout, both Marksman/Sniper/Patrol and Infantry? I’m currently a new player

I just bought BF1 in December and have been grinding the Scout class. I’m doing pretty good at close range so far, but I find it very difficult to aim at medium to long range. I tried to give lead, elevate my scope for bullet drops, but so far it’s not working well. Are there any tips that help me measure my shots better? Many thanks.
